Being a modern mom is fun, gratifying, and certainly one of life’s biggest blessings! That being said, it can also be extremely stressful at times, requiring a lot of time and attention to ensure your kids stay healthy and happy. Moms are more than deserving of some TLC to manage the stress levels and maintain a clear mind.

Fear not! Here are three easy at-home DIY remedies that will revitalize you after a long day and help keep you looking young and beautiful.

Keep Your Hair in Tip-Top Shape with Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is an absolutely magical hair-product with a variety of different uses, and best of all, it’s completely natural! Coconut oil is loaded with powerful antioxidants and antimicrobial properties that can be used to condition hair, enhance hair growth, and treat dandruff. The vitamin-rich oil is also great for more general use, helping maintain a smooth, rich, and lush head of hair.

Gently massage half a tablespoon (a little less if your hair is on the thinner side) of coconut oil into your scalp for about ten minutes. Afterwards, cover your hair with a shower cap for at least one hour (the longer you leave it in, the better the outcome).  Then, wash the coconut oil out with shampoo. Combine it with rosemary, lemongrass and Jojoba essential oils for even more benefits. With each treatment, you’ll notice your hair become smoother, softer, and silkier! For the best results, I suggest doing it twice a week.

Pearl Powder Face Mask for Skin that Glows like a Jewel

After a number of years, the daily stresses of being a mom can take a toll on the look and feel of your facial skin. Enter the pearl powder face mask. Pearl powder has been used by many Eastern cultures for thousands of years to help improve skin health by relieving skin redness and bringing about smooth, clear skin. Pearl powder has anti-inflammatory properties that help to make it happen. Mix one tablespoon of pearl powder with just enough Jojoba oil to a smooth, paste-like consistency. Then apply the mask to your face and let it sit for around 15 minutes. Afterwards, wash it off with warm water.

A word of caution, though: study up. Pearl powder comes in a variety of types and sizes (and origins for that matter). And pearl powder and mother of pearl are two very different things. Read up beforehand so you spend your money wisely. Though they themselves don’t offer pearl powder, sites like Laguna Pearl and The Pearl Source offer some good educational resources.

Bold, Red Lips with a Strawberry and Coconut Oil Mix

Our third and final DIY remedy will help your lips regain a natural red color that pops. Additionally, it’ll keep your lips nice and soft. The recipe is super simple and the results are truly amazing. In a small bowl, mash 1-2 strawberries. Warm up one tablespoon of coconut oil in the microwave for about 15 seconds, then combine the ingredients. Massage your lips softly with the mix for about a minute and a half. Afterwards, let the mix stay on your lips for around ten minutes before washing it out with lukewarm water.
